That government consultation on small print

consumer rights act, fine print, government, legibility, small print

In 2016 the UK government started a consultation into the presentation of small print. It never reported back, and in March 2018 I blogged about a Times article about delays in numerous consultations.

I've been remiss about checking since then... but remembered today. It seems that just a few days after that article appeared, they finally wrapped up the enquiry. Not by reporting on it, but by claiming they incorporated its findings into another one.

They say:

The themes consulted on - terms and conditions, and fining powers - and evidence gathered, were incorporated into the development of the Consumer green paper published in April 2018.
Further research into Terms and Conditions is underway.

But I couldn't find any reference to terms and conditions in the green paper. Oh well...
