We're very happy to partner with Protecture to present a workshop on the design of privacy information. Data protection legislation requires most organisation to have a privacy policy and to communicate it to their customers. The problem they face is how to communicate complex legal concepts to a largely uninterested audience. As citizens we're concerned about data privacy in the abstract, particularly when we read about its misuse. But most of us are not sufficiently motivated to engage in understanding it.
This workshop will present the legal requirements, and then move on to how simplification and information design can help. Participants are encouraged to bring their own policies for critiquing in groups.
Protecture is a team of data protection specialists who help organisations with data protection compliance – particularly charities, schools and local government..
The workshop is on November 20, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at The Waterfront, Welsh Back, Bristol, BS1 4SB. You can find more at the Protecture website here: https://members.protecture.org.uk/events/
